Mitigating measures are actions you take to prevent risks from becoming hazards. These mitigating measures are described in your operational manual. You transfer these measures to DroneDeck and link them to risks.

The risk analysis provides a clear overview of what you need to mitigate and the risk associated with each drone operation. These risks are clearly presented in the flight plan, making them clear to the pilot and allowing you to share them with clients. This also allows you to demonstrate to clients that you are professionally handling their assignments.

SORA

The Specific Operation Risk Analysis is a risk analysis method developed by JARUS. This method is used as the underlying risk analysis for Standard Scenarios and Predefined Risk Assessments (PDRA). As a drone operator, you can also submit a SORA. These are all performed using the same methodology. The current version is 2.0. Version 2.5 will be released in the near future.

For mitigating measures, you can also indicate whether they should be included in the SORA calculation. You can also specify which version of the SORA each mitigating measure applies to. Both the initial and final values are calculated based on this information.

Suggestions for Improvement

After performing an operation, you always have a debriefing. This is where you share the day's experiences. If an experience is important, you bring it to the safety meeting.

During a safety meeting, debriefings are discussed and lead to suggestions for improvement. This way, mitigating measures are periodically tightened or new ones are added.
